In a recently published study finding, the visual appearance of a person’s face in terms of being attractive or unattractive plays a big part in making the time fly or go slow. A study conducted by Ruth Ogden of Liverpool John Moores University, School of Natural Sciences and Psychology, has come out with a finding that unappealing activities tend to fly by faster cheap pills and last for a shorter duration. Attractiveness of face plays a major role in how people are being appraised by others. Facially attractive people earn more money and are usually considered to be socially desirable than people with unattractive faces.
While evaluating the facial attractiveness, the amygdala component in the brain helps a person to decide whether the face is attractive or not. The study also come out with an interesting finding on the state of amygdala. The activation process of amygdala is non linear as it gets activated on seeing an attractive face as well as an unattractive face. But it doesn’t get activated when the pills face is nether one of them and is neutral. Ruth Ogden’s study results were published in the academic journal, Cognition and Emotion. As part of the study, 20 female undergraduates were asked to complete a verbal estimation task.
