About Us

Liquidia Technologies Inc. is a privately-held nanotechnology company that designs, develops, and manufactures precisely engineered particles and films for a wide range of life sciences and materials science applications. Liquidia's proprietary PRINT® product platform is unique in its ability to replicate and produce nanoscale features with absolute control over feature size, shape, and composition. The PRINT platform combines precision nanoreplication technology adopted from the microelectronics industry with a scalable manufacturing process to produce high-value applications in Engineered Drug Therapies™ and Optical Films.

Engineered Drug Therapies™ - Within the life sciences business, Liquidia leverages the PRINT platform to develop monodisperse nanoparticles for drug delivery with independent control of particle size, shape, modulus, surface functionality, matrix composition, and drug loading. The ability to independently control these properties enables Liquidia and its partners to develop therapeutics with improved safety, efficacy, and/or dosing requirements. Liquidia's initial development efforts are focused on delivery of nucleic acids to treat disease and targeted therapeutics for the treatment of cancer. Additionally, Liquidia is using the unique shapes and controlled release profiles of PRINT particles to develop new approaches for inhaled and ocular therapeutics.

Optical Films - In the materials science sector, Liquidia is developing nanoscale patterned optical films for use in display and photovoltaic applications. Liquidia's unique ability to manufacture micro and nano-structures with single nanometer precision enables breakthrough efficiency in the management of light. Combined, the precision and scalibity of Liquidia's manufacturing process lead to improved performance, efficiency, and economic requirements for innovative light management products

Founded in 2004 on the discoveries of Professor Joseph DeSimone and colleagues at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Liquidia is comprised of a world-class team of scientists, advisors, and business leaders. Professor DeSimone is widely recognized for his expertise in polymer science and nanotechnology; and has a strong track record of innovation and technology commercialization. Investors in the company include New Enterprise Associates and Wakefield Group. Both companies have a long and successful track record of identifying the most promising ideas, and transforming those ideas into exceptional companies including TiVo Inc., Amerigroup Corp., and Motricity. Building on this foundation of experienced leadership, revolutionary technology, and commitment to innovative products developed internally and with partners, Liquidia is positioned to become a leader in turning the breakthroughs of nanotechnology into real-world solutions.

Liquidia Technologies is based in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.

At Liquidia, we are committed to advancing technology that improves treatment for patients, exceeds customer expectations for innovative products, and enhances the quality of human lives.
