Mr. Neal Fowler - Chief Executive Officer
Neal Fowler is Liquidia's Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Fowler joined Liquidia after seven successful years at Johnson & Johnson. Formerly, he was president of Centocor, Inc., a multi-billion dollar subsidiary focused on development and commercialization of industry leading biomedicines used in the treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases. At Centocor, Mr. Fowler prepared the company for the launch of two potential blockbuster products and continued the company's legacy of double-digit growth for their flagship product REMICADE® (infliximab). Prior to Centocor, Mr. Fowler was president of Ortho-McNeil Neurologics Inc. and vice president of the central nervous system franchise at Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Fowler joined Johnson & Johnson after a successful 13-year career at Eli Lilly and Company, where he doubled sales of the cardiovascular business unit over a three-year period. Mr. Fowler is a native of Raleigh, NC and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy and Masters of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH).
Mr. Bruce Boucher - President
Bruce Boucher is Liquidia's President. Mr. Boucher was most recently General Manager and Chief Financial Officer for Cardinal Health's Pharmaceutical Development business, which was formerly Magellan Laboratories, an entrepreneurial-based high growth business headquartered in RTP, NC, that sold to Cardinal in 2002. Prior to that, Mr. Boucher was actively involved with the expansion of the ClinTrials Research business in various corporate and operational rolls that provided clinical trial testing and data services to the pharmaceutical industry. Mr. Boucher was also a practice manager with Price Waterhouse in areas of audit, business valuations, transaction support and international tax servicing high tech, petrochemical and financial services organizations.
Professor Joseph DeSimone - Founder and Chief Scientific Officer
Dr. DeSimone founded Liquidia Technologies in 2004 with his colleagues at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC). Dr. DeSimone holds faculty positions at UNC and North Carolina State University. He has co-founded multiple companies during his 16-year tenure at UNC, the most recent of which was acquired by Guidant Corp. Dr. DeSimone is the youngest member of the National Academy of Engineering. In 2008 he was the recipient of the prestigious Lemelson-MIT Prize for inventors. He is credited with over 100 issued patents and more than 200 published articles, and currently serves as Liquidia's Chief Scientific Officer.
Mr. Luke Roush - Chief Operating Officer
Luke Roush joined Liquidia in April of 2006 and currently serves as Chief Operating Officer. His background includes product management, business development, and strategic planning experience at Boston Scientific, Newell Rubbermaid, and Trilogy Software. Most recently, Mr. Roush was managing the Hemorrhagic Stroke Franchise at Boston Scientific Neurovascular. This franchise developed and managed implantable neurovascular device platforms, and grew to encompass over $160MM in global annual revenue. Mr. Roush's tenure at Newell Rubbermaid included global supply chain, manufacturing, and front-end integration experience, through the establishment of joint ventures in both China and South Korea.
Dr. Bill Weiser - General Manager, Liquidia Pharmaceuticals
Bill Weiser joined Liquidia in 2007 as General Manager of Pharmaceuticals. Prior to joining Liquidia, he was President of Techlytic Consulting where he led drug development projects and managed large contract analytical chemistry laboratories. Formerly Vice President Analytical Chemistry at Cardinal Health Pharmaceutical Development, Dr. Weiser led a 100-scientist contract Analytical Chemistry Laboratory and contributed to the six-fold growth of Magellan Laboratories (acquired by Cardinal Health in 2002) over a seven-year period. Prior to Magellan, Bill had a nine year career at Burroughs Wellcome Co. He has a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from Purdue University, and a B.S. in Chemistry from The College of William and Mary.
